LUNCH at MISSION WINERY NAPIER

Our Napier hosts Frank and Rose Fillary turned on a wonderful lunch at THE MISSION WINERY. The food was tasty and the wine (after the initial strong taste on first
sip) was ideal for our light lunch. Baked Blue Nose fish was the preferred main, and excellent it was.

Napier Golf Club

After a 1 hour 30 minute drive from Taupo we managed to make an early afternoon tee time at NAPIER GOLF CLUB. With a course rating of well below our home club of Gulf Harbour this should be a doddle? Right! Wrong.

Oh how I struggled around the first nine. JT was 4 up at the turn.

C'MON! get a grip!

These are the challenges that make golf the ultimate sport.

By 17 we were all square. The 18th is a hard, long par 4 and we both have our 2nd just off the green. We both chip 2 metres short of the hole and both just miss par putts. EVEN: a good result for the day

Above: JT off the 18th tee. Below pitching to the green for 3: and putting for par, but missing by a snitch to tie the game.
